In this lesson , we talked about struggle between The Monarchy and The Parliament . Charles I failed and Civil War begun.
Oliver Cromwell was the commander of The Parliament army . It is called Interregnum Period . After Charles I beheaded , the mood of the people changed in favour of the King. Cromwell ruled as a dictator. I think , it is not useful for society. If there is a King or President ,he can not manage the government or society as a dictator.
THE RESTORATION
Charles II came after Cromwell died and he allowed the supporters of the Parliament to hold position.
The first political and opposite parties are Whings vs Tories .
Andrew who wrote various poems is member of Parliament and an active politician . To His Coy Mistress is one of his poems. It is spoken by nameless man to nameless woman. There is Carpe Diam in poem. Man talks about shortness of life . He says that death is forever so we should live recklessly .
